Service Kit includes:

1 x Spark Plug - We always supply the manufacturers' suggested spark plug rating for best performance.

1 x Fine Particulate Inline Fuel Filter - If you do not already have one fitted, cut your fuel line in half and insert this fuel filter in the middle. This makes it easy to see the purity of the fuel, helping to prevent dirty fuel or fuel tank rust, being pulled into the carburetor and engine, and causing expensive damage.

1 x Air Filter (top mounting type- Designed for your Small Engine to maximise fuel consumption and provides 2 air particulate barriers. This high-quality replacement filter consisting of a fine inner microfibre filtering agent, designed to allow the correct airflow into the engine, and a washable external sponge to catch larger particles.

IF YOU HAVE A SIDE MOUNTED AIR FILTER HOUSING please click here.

Roary the Repair Lion says:

Your Small Engine turns at 3000-4000 rpm. This high speed means your Small Engine will need to be maintained to the highest standard. Almost all the Small Engines we have fixed over the years have come in as the Engine was not maintained properly.
Rust in the fuel clogging the fuel system and seizing the engine, clogged up air filters forcing dirty air into the cylinder, and oil that is dirty or old, causing excess strain on the engine wearing gears and piston rings. These are the causes of expensive repairs!
Service your Small Engine every 6 months or 150 hours. 150 hours may seem too often, but to put it in car terms, if you drive at only 3000 rpm in top gear (60-80 m/h or 100-120km/h) you would have done an average of 10,500 miles or 16,500 km!
If you run your Small Engine machinery regularly for business, be sure to work out a service schedule. Keeping to it could save you money from lost trading days.

Please Note: We can no longer provide Engine Oil with our Service Kits due to shipping restrictions, please see the oil product listing (on the model's parts page) to see the oil specification and quantity for your engine.

Servicing Tips:

1) It is important to use the correct oil for your Small Engine. Most car oils will damage this Small Engine as the heat produced by a this engine is not hot enough to thin the oil. ONLY USE THE CORRECT OIL!

Oil type: Mineral/Non-Synthetic Oil (sometime called Classic Car Oil)

Oil Grade:

  • Use 10W40 when temperatures exceed 30°C / 86°F
  • 10W30 for temperatures between 0°C - 30°C / 32°F - 86°F
  • 5W40 for temperatures below 0°C / 32°F

Oil capacity: Metric Litre 0.6 / USA Metric Gallon 0.16 / UK Imperial Gallon 0.13

2) If you are performing a major service, usually done yearly or after every 300 hours of running, be sure to check the Valve Clearances. Not doing so will affect the starting, running and fuel efficiency of the engine.

If your engine is hard to start... this will be the issue!

Set your Valve Lash Clearances to 0.015 inches OR 0.4 mm for both Intake and Exhaust. (If not running correctly, open the exhaust to 0.020 inches OR 0.5 mm).

You will need a Feeler Gauge to set your Valve Lash Clearances.
