These usually only need replacing it the original switch has been hit or the wires have been pulled out.
If you are replacing because your engine will not start, please follow these tests:
- Please check the oil level, if low fill up and try starting again.
- If it will not start, disconnect the "Oil Alert Unit CDI Controller" by unplugging the wire that protrudes from the engine just above one of the oil fillers. If the engine will run with this unplugged, then you need to replace the "Oil Alert Unit CDI Controller." (Available on the model page.)
