Description
Replacement Valve Retainers (Set of 2)
These little parts hold your valve spring in place. If they come lose you need to reset your Valve Clearances (see Roary's tips)
Roary the Repair Lion says:
- Be sure to inspect the the Piston, Cylinder Head, Cylinder, Valve Springs, Rockers, Valves and Push Rods for damage and replace if necessary.
- You might need to replace the Rocker Cover Gasket if it splits during the repair (available in the Gasket kit.)
- You will need a new Head Gasket when replacing this part.
- We also suggest a full oil change to remove and prevent any broken metal or shavings from the old, damaged parts jamming the engine.
- When replacing, reset your Valve Lash Clearances settings (Instruction video below.)
- Intake: 0.15-0.20 mm
- Exhaust: 0.20-0.30 mm
(Try the smallest setting first. If it is still not running right, change the clearance to the larger setting.)
This is required by all small engines on a regular basis and is a simple job. It is suggested you do this and service the engine at the same time.
