This part protects your carburetor from the heat of your engine and prevents unwanted ignition of fuel caused by heat.

Be sure that the gaskets are not split or bent and do create a firm seal! A broken gasket can affect the fuel efficiency of your small engine. It may also prevent the engine from starting or running correctly as it will affect the Fuel/Air mixture.
