1) Always change the Carburetor Gaskets if you remove the Carburetor or Engine Insulator. It is almost impossible to diagnose a broken Carburetor gasket! So replacing them immediately could save you hours of work and frustration! One defective Carburetor Gasket can cause a significant loss of horsepower and may prevent the Engine from starting or running correctly.
2) If you are replacing the choke handle because it is broken, you need to also check the choke post and flap have not got jammed or bent. If it has bent, you will also need to buy a Carburetor Repair Kit and replace the choke post.
